Guests already announced

Where is Romics?
Romics takes place at Fiera Roma, Via Portuense 1645. This is outside the historic centre, so do not treat the event like an attraction you can casually fit between Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon.
How much time should you allow?
If Romics is the reason you are going, give it most of the day. If you mainly want to see the atmosphere, exhibitions and a specific guest, build the visit around that programme rather than wandering all five halls without a plan.
What to do in Rome after Romics
Because the event uses a lot of energy, keep the evening simple: dinner, Trastevere or a relaxed walk in the centre rather than another major museum.

The guest and event programme continues to evolve. Use the official Romics website for the latest programme and access information.

Which day should you choose?
Thursday and Friday are cheaper and generally make more sense if your priority is browsing stands, publishers, exhibitions and shopping with a little more breathing room. Saturday and Sunday cost more and are usually the stronger choice if you want the biggest crowd energy, cosplay presence and headline programming.
If you are travelling specifically for one guest, panel or signing, do not choose the day based only on ticket price: wait for or check the official daily schedule and build the ticket around that appearance.
How to get to Fiera Roma without wasting the morning
Fiera Roma is not in the historic centre. Treat the journey as part of the event day and check the current public-transport route from your accommodation before leaving. The fair has North and East entrances listed for the event; knowing your entrance matters when the site is busy.
If you are staying around Termini, Monti, Prati or the historic centre, leave more time than you would for a normal central Rome attraction. Romics is not something to squeeze between a 10:00 Colosseum slot and a 15:00 Vatican booking.
How long do you actually need?
For a first visit, half a day is the minimum if you want to browse more than one area. A full day makes more sense for fans interested in panels, signings, cosplay, gaming and shopping. The official event spans five halls, so trying to “see everything” in two hours usually means seeing very little properly.
What should you prioritise inside?
- One or two must-see guests or panels. Fix these first because they have times.
- Exhibitions and Romics d’Oro content. These are harder to reproduce outside the event.
- Publishers and Self Area. Useful if you care about comics, illustration and independent creators.
- Entertainment and gaming. Best treated as a block rather than random detours all day.
- Shopping last. Carrying purchases for six hours is unnecessary unless stock is limited.
Romics with children
It can work very well, but plan around energy rather than coverage. Pick a few recognisable areas, allow food and sitting breaks, and do not assume a child will enjoy eight hours of queues simply because they like comics or videogames. Children aged 0–5 have free admission according to the current official ticket page; check current conditions before travelling.
What to bring
Comfortable shoes, a portable charger, water, a light bag for purchases and a screenshot of any must-see timetable are more useful than a complicated plan. If cosplay is part of your day, check the current event rules before bringing props or bulky accessories.
Is Romics worth it for tourists who are not hardcore fans?
Yes if pop culture, illustration, games or cosplay genuinely interests you. No if you only want “something happening in Rome”: Fiera Roma requires a dedicated trip and there are more efficient cultural events in the centre. The event earns the time when the content itself is the reason you are going.
FAQ
Can I buy a ticket at the gate?
The official 37th-edition ticket page states that visitor tickets are available through online presale and authorised VivaTicket sales points. Check again before departure rather than assuming on-site sales.
Which days are cheapest?
Thursday and Friday are currently listed at €12 plus fee; Saturday and Sunday at €15 plus fee.
Can I combine Romics with sightseeing?
Yes, but keep sightseeing for the evening or another day. The fair deserves a half or full day once transport is included.
