In the morning, you will visit the three main sites of the Colosseum Archaeological Park: the Colosseum, a symbol of ancient Rome and the venue for gladiatorial contests; the Palatine Hill, the hill associated with the city\u2019s origins; and the Roman Forum, for centuries the heart of Rome\u2019s public, political and economic life.<\/p>\n
After lunch, the tour continues to the Vatican Museums, which house an extraordinary collection of art amassed by the Popes over the centuries. The itinerary includes the Pio Clementino Museum, the Laoco\u00f6n, the Belvedere Apollo, the Gallery of Maps, the Gallery of Candelabra, the Gallery of Tapestries and the famous Sistine Chapel, with Michelangelo\u2019s frescoes.<\/p>\n
Leaving the Museums, you will follow the guide along the walls of Vatican City to St Peter\u2019s Square, dominated by Michelangelo\u2019s Dome and surrounded by Bernini\u2019s famous colonnade.
