A simple list of filming spots is not very useful on the ground. What matters is knowing which locations are worth adding to a Rome itinerary, which ones need a reservation, which ones are private or outside the city, and how to see the best of them without wasting an entire day zig-zagging across Rome.

Season 5 moves Emily into a much more Roman world: Piazza Costaguti becomes her home base, Palazzo Fendi and its rooftop enter the story, the Aventine Keyhole gets a romantic cameo, and places such as Ostia Antica, the EUR district and luxury hotels around the historic center become part of the visual language of the show. Netflix has published an official location guide, so the core locations below are based on confirmed filming information rather than fan speculation.

Emily in Paris Rome locations — quick answer

Best locations if you only have half a day

Piazza Costaguti, Palazzo Fendi/Zuma, Aventine Keyhole, Piazza Mincio/Coppedè

Best location for a meal or drink

Zuma at Palazzo Fendi or Gigi Rigolatto at Orient Express La Minerva

Best free stop

Aventine Keyhole

Best location for fashion fans

Fendi Roma Palazzo at Largo Goldoni

Best half-day detour

Ostia Antica, used for the world around fictional Solitano

What needs booking

Restaurants, rooftops and any hotel dining experience; Fendi appointments are optional but available

What not to do

Try to visit every location in one day — several are far from the center or private

Time needed

About 4–5 hours for the central locations; add half a day for Ostia Antica

Information checked on September 22, 2026. Restaurant hours, access rules and booking availability can change, so use the official links at the end of this guide before you go. Some are public squares that take five minutes to see, some are functioning restaurants or hotels, and others are places where the exterior is the attraction because the interior is private. That distinction matters if you are planning a real trip rather than a photo checklist.

1. Piazza Costaguti — Emily’s Rome apartment

Photo: seanfoneill / Wikimedia Commons — CC BY 2.0. This is one of the easiest locations to include because you do not need to reorganize your day around it. Piazza Costaguti sits close to the Portico of Octavia, the Theatre of Marcellus, Largo di Torre Argentina, Campo de’ Fiori and the Pantheon.

Treat it as an exterior location, not an attraction with an interior to visit. The smartest way to use the stop is as the beginning of a walk through the Jewish Ghetto rather than travelling across town only for one photograph. If you are already planning a central Rome day, it fits naturally.

Worth the detour? Yes, if you are already in the historic center. No, if you are coming from the Vatican or EUR purely for the building.

2. Cropped from original.

Zuma Rome is one of the locations where following the series can turn into a real experience rather than just a photo stop. The restaurant occupies the upper floors of Palazzo Fendi at Via della Fontanella di Borghese 48 and has an open-air terrace with views across Rome and toward the Spanish Steps. In Season 5, Sylvie has a rooftop breakfast here with Giancarlo.

Zuma is a functioning upscale restaurant, lounge and terrace. The official restaurant currently lists lunch and dinner service plus evening hours for the lounge and terrace. If your goal is simply to see the setting, a drink can make more sense than building an entire dinner around the show. If you actually like contemporary Japanese food, then it becomes a much stronger stop.

Book ahead: yes, especially for evenings and terrace seating. Do not assume you can walk in at sunset because you saw the rooftop on Netflix.

3. Even if you are not a serious fan of the series, this is one of the more interesting detours because the neighborhood itself is unusual: Art Nouveau, medieval references, ornate façades, arches and the Fountain of the Frogs create a version of Rome that looks nothing like the Colosseum-Pantheon-Trevi route.

The office itself should be treated as a filming exterior rather than a public attraction. Come for the architecture and the neighborhood, not because you expect an Agence Grateau set tour.

Worth the detour? Yes if you like architecture, photography or the series. If you have only one day in Rome, this is the first location I would cut because Coppedè sits away from the most efficient central route.

4. The exterior and surrounding EUR architecture are what make this worthwhile for most visitors.

Would I include it? Only if you are genuinely interested in Fendi, architecture or EUR. It is too far from the historic-center locations to justify the trip for a two-minute photograph.

5. Unlike the headquarters, this location is designed to receive visitors: it is Fendi’s flagship Roman boutique and offers appointments alongside regular shopping.

This is also one of the easiest locations to combine with a first-time Rome itinerary. Largo Goldoni sits between the Spanish Steps area and the central shopping streets, so you can visit without sacrificing half the day.

If fashion is your main interest, this is the location I would prioritize over the EUR headquarters. The official Fendi store page lists current opening hours and lets visitors book an appointment.

6. The hotel is at Piazza della Minerva 69, directly beside the Pantheon area, making it one of the most convenient luxury locations in the series.

The rooftop is the more useful stop for most travelers. Gigi overlooks the Pantheon, St. Peter’s dome and the Vittoriano, and it works as an aperitivo or dinner destination rather than a location you stand outside and photograph.

Best use of this location: make it the end of your filming-locations walk. If you are paying luxury-hotel prices, you may as well get a good Rome evening out of it instead of treating the hotel like a movie prop.

7. Through the small opening in the gate, the dome of St. Peter’s is perfectly framed at the end of a garden avenue. Turismo Roma confirms the viewpoint at number 3 on the square.

This is free, outdoors and genuinely worth seeing even if you have never watched the series. The only catch is the queue: the viewpoint became famous long before Emily in Paris, so arriving at a busy time can turn a ten-second view into a much longer stop.

Do not leave immediately after looking through the keyhole. Walk to the nearby Orange Garden for one of the best free panoramas in Rome. That turns a television-location stop into a much better use of the Aventine.

8. Netflix places its Season 5 world around the scenic Ostia Antica area, where Agence Grateau stages the Muratori Paradiso launch. This is the location that deserves the most time because Ostia Antica is not a five-minute filming stop: it is one of the major archaeological sites around Rome.

The official archaeological park currently opens Tuesday through Sunday from 8:30 AM, with seasonal closing times, and lists a full combined ticket at €18. If you go, plan a real visit. It is a luxury hotel rather than a public sightseeing attraction.

If you are staying there, dining there or deliberately planning a luxury excursion, it makes sense. If you are based in central Rome and simply want to tick off Season 5 locations, it does not. This is exactly the kind of stop that turns a fun self-guided itinerary into a day spent in traffic.

11. Cropped from original.

Marcello takes Emily into the countryside around San Polo dei Cavalieri for a family truffle hunt. It is a useful reminder that Season 5 is not only about central Rome, but this is not an efficient add-on to a city sightseeing day.

I would only build a trip around it if the countryside, truffle hunting or a private experience genuinely interests you. For most first-time visitors, a central Rome day plus Ostia Antica gives you a much better balance of the show and the city itself.

The best Emily in Paris self-guided route in Rome

If you try to reproduce Netflix’s complete location list, the geography works against you. The most efficient version is a central route with one short taxi ride, not an attempt to include EUR, Ostia Antica, La Posta Vecchia and San Polo dei Cavalieri on the same day.

Start at Piazza Costaguti. Spend a little time in the Jewish Ghetto instead of photographing one façade and leaving.

Walk to Piazza della Minerva. See the Orient Express La Minerva exterior and decide whether you want to return later for Gigi Rigolatto.

Continue to Palazzo Fendi. Visit Fendi Roma Palazzo and see Zuma in the same part of the city. This is also easy to combine with the Spanish Steps.

Head toward Villa Borghese. If you want another screen location, Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese is nearby; otherwise use the time for the park.

Take a taxi to Piazza Mincio. Walk through Coppedè and Via Dora for the Agence Grateau Rome area.

Finish at the Aventine. See the keyhole and Orange Garden, ideally later in the afternoon when the light is better.

With stops, photographs and a coffee or lunch, this is roughly a half-day to five-hour plan. Add a booked rooftop drink or dinner and it becomes a complete day without feeling like you spent your Rome vacation chasing production locations.

If you only have two or three days in Rome, which locations are worth it?

If this is your first trip to Rome, the series should improve your itinerary, not replace it. I would keep three locations: Piazza Costaguti because it fits naturally into the historic center, Palazzo Fendi because it combines the show with a real Roman fashion landmark, and the Aventine Keyhole because the experience is worthwhile on its own.

Coppedè becomes the optional fourth stop. Ostia Antica deserves a separate half-day only if ancient Rome interests you beyond the Netflix connection. I would skip EUR, La Posta Vecchia and San Polo dei Cavalieri on a short first visit unless one of them is personally important to you.

For a realistic first-time structure, compare this route with our Rome in 3 days itinerary. It will show you where an Emily-themed half-day can fit without sacrificing the Colosseum, Vatican or historic center.

What needs a reservation?

Zuma Rome: reserve if you want a real meal or a specific terrace time.

Gigi Rigolatto Roma: book ahead for dinner, sunset and popular evening slots.

Settimo: treat it as a restaurant reservation, not an open-access rooftop.

La Posta Vecchia: only plan the trip with a confirmed hotel, dining or event reason.

Fendi Roma Palazzo: ordinary store access is possible during opening hours, while appointments can be booked for a more structured shopping visit.

Ostia Antica: check the official archaeological park for current opening hours and ticket conditions before travelling.

The public squares, Coppedè streets and Aventine Keyhole do not require reservations.

What I would skip on an Emily in Paris locations day

The biggest mistake is treating every confirmed location as equally valuable. They are not. Fendi headquarters at EUR is striking, but the commute is difficult to justify if you only want an exterior photo. La Posta Vecchia is a destination hotel outside the center. San Polo dei Cavalieri makes sense as a countryside experience, not as a quick stop. Ostia Antica is excellent, but it needs its own block of time.

There is also no reason to force both luxury rooftops and every restaurant into one day. Pick one place you would genuinely enjoy even without the series. That is the difference between a themed Rome day and an expensive scavenger hunt.

Can Do You Rome turn this into a private itinerary?

Yes. A self-guided version is easy if you are comfortable navigating Rome, but a private itinerary starts to make sense when you want to mix filming locations with the Colosseum, Vatican, shopping appointments, restaurant reservations or a car to reach places outside the historic center.

You can start with our private tours in Rome. For a more custom day involving restaurant bookings, transfers, fashion stops or special requests, the Rome concierge service is the more flexible option.

The goal would not be to sell you a generic “Emily tour” with twelve rushed photo stops. It would be to use the locations you actually care about as anchors for a day that still feels like Rome.

Is an Emily in Paris Rome locations tour actually worth it?

Yes, with one condition: do not let the series become more important than the city. Season 5 works unusually well for a themed itinerary because several locations are already worth visiting — the Aventine, the Jewish Ghetto, Coppedè, Ostia Antica and the Pantheon area would all make sense without Netflix.

The weaker version is spending hours travelling to corporate offices and remote hotels for photographs. The stronger version is using the show as an excuse to see a different side of Rome: contemporary fashion, unusual neighborhoods, rooftops, architecture and places beyond the standard first-time checklist.

Frequently asked questions

Where is Emily’s apartment in Rome?

Netflix identifies Piazza Costaguti in Rome’s historic Jewish Ghetto as Emily’s Season 5 Rome apartment location. Treat it as an exterior filming location rather than a public apartment attraction.

Is Solitano a real town in Italy?

No. Solitano is fictional. Netflix links the Muratori storyline and launch setting to the Ostia Antica area near Rome.

Can you visit the Fendi locations from Emily in Paris?

Fendi Roma Palazzo at Largo Goldoni is a real flagship boutique open to shoppers and offers appointments. Fendi’s headquarters at Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana in EUR is a corporate location, so the exterior is the practical sightseeing stop.

Where is the keyhole Emily visits in Rome?

The famous Aventine Keyhole is at Piazza dei Cavalieri di Malta, at number 3. It frames the dome of St. Peter’s Basilica through the garden beyond the gate.

How long does an Emily in Paris filming-locations tour take?

Allow around four to five hours for a sensible central Rome route. Ostia Antica requires an additional half-day. Trying to include every outlying location in one day is not a good use of time.

Which Emily in Paris Rome location is best for dinner?

Zuma at Palazzo Fendi and Gigi Rigolatto at Orient Express La Minerva are the strongest choices if you want the filming-location connection plus a proper evening experience. Book ahead rather than relying on walk-in availability.

The local reality check: the best Emily route is still just a good Rome walk

When fans were trying to track Season 5 filming in Rome, community posts pointed to Campo Marzio, the Aventine and Via del Corso — and one of the most sensible replies was simply to walk the neighborhoods where filming had been spotted. That is exactly how I would use this guide.

Do not race from pin to pin trying to recreate every frame. The series works because Rome looks effortless on screen; the closest real-life version is to use two or three locations as anchors and let the streets between them do some of the work.

Community check: Community discussion on Reddit.
